WELCOME,
My name is Shane Vigna and I am an Economics and Finance student with a passion for investing. My understanding of how the economy works has proved very useful to me when it comes to picking suitable stocks.
I started this blog because I was already researching these sectors and stocks and thought that I would share my thought process with other people. After all, going on a journey is better with more people to debate ideas with, share experiences, and information previously unknown.
I would love for my readers to think of this as not just a blog but an ecosystem for financial knowledge where you can contact me with any questions you have or if there was a stock you wanted more information on.
My method of investing is a combination of top-down investing and technical analysis. This is when you first look at the economy, then an industry, then a sector, and finally a business while focusing on the company's ratios and financial figures.
I would have a preference for European stocks over US ones as I feel there is a lot less information, research, and blogs on European stocks even though we have some great companies. The US also has a higher weight average P/E ratio than most European countries which makes it harder to find undervalued and unloved stocks. The unloved ones are my favourite of course!
This blog will be split into three sections:

Education:
This includes posts to introduce beginners to the wonderful world of investing. Here you can learn about the different ratios investors use, how to get started, how the economy and markets intertwine, and the different products available to you.

Stock Screener:
In this segment, I use stock valuation metrics to calculate the fair value of a stock. I will also use a number of business and investment ratios to show the company's past performance and compare this with its competitors. This will serve as a starting point for anyone looking for potential investments but not sure where to begin or just inspiration.

Market Talk:
This segment involves discussing various industries and stocks across the UK and EU but in less detail than 'Stock Screener'. Here, we aim provide investors with stocks and industries they may not have previously though of or disregarded.
